A Sobble Prototype

Even though I don't own a Switch yet, I am beyond excited for Pokemon Sword and Shield! When they announced the Nintendo Direct to air at 7 am, I figured we'd just be getting the official names for the games, and decided that I wouldn't bother waking up to see it live. Imagine my surprise (and delight!) when I blearily rolled over in bed and saw my news feed inundated with pictures of the adorable new starters.

I'd just been in the process of getting excited about making my own patterns and was struggling through creating a Litten plushie when the news dropped. Immediately I knew what my new patterns were gonna be.

I really can't choose a favourite, and I definitely plan to make patterns for all three, with the dream of making enough of them to sell them at a table at the Edmonton Expo. I started with Sobble because...well, he looked the simplest, haha. I'm looking towards Scorbunny next, even though those dang ears are really daunting!

Anyway, he's the prototype body for Sobble! There are a few changes I'd still like to make, like trying to shape his head into that more very-rounded-triangle shape. At first I wasn't sure about the addition of arms and legs, but I got some good reviews on Facebook (which, as we all know, is where the most stringent critics are). And while he's been sitting on my desk waiting for my proper coloured yarn to arrive, I've found myself playing with his little toes. So they're definitely there to stay!

Anyway, now to wait for my shipment of yarn colours to come in! In the meantime, I'm off to watch trailer analysis videos!
